BluRay Appears to Have Won the Format War
There seems to be a winner in the high-definition format war! On February 16 rumors began
to swirl that Toshiba was going to stop the manufacture of the HD-DVD format. This comes
after several blows in preceding weeks including the defection of Warner Brothers to the rival
BluRay, the announcement of Blockbuster that they would rent BluRay in their stores and
NetFlix announcing that they would halt rental of the HD-DVD format.
This is good news to the consumer!
