Did you know that a remote control could be one of the best purchases you can make
for your entertainment system? A well-designed (and well-programmed) remote can
bring all of your equipment into a manageable, easy-to-use system. Instead of having
one remote for your TV, one for the DVD player, one for the cable box and one more
for the receiver, you could have one remote that can be picked up by the babysitter
or your mother in-law and with very little instruction, they could use your system as
easily as you! These remotes can be as simple as the $149.99 Harmony 670 (which
you can program via the included software) or as complicated as the $1199.00 RTI
T3 (which must be programmed by a custom integrator such as Colorado Media
Systems).

The Harmony 670 is a simplified remote that has some
limitations in terms of controlling the individual parameters of
the equipment, as well as the macros that can be programmed.
This is often a good economical choice for a budget system
but there are a number of limitations as to what can be
controlled and the method of programming.

The RTI T3 is fully programmable and can control
anything that has an infrared remote control as well as
many other kinds of devices. This is a comprehensive
control system that makes an entertainment system
complete.
